I am happy to report that we have accounted for all 5 of our wrens - one pair and their offspring from last year. The parent pair lives in our garage (2 yrs) and roosts, generally, above the garage door opener (they nest there too) and other assorted places of interest to them. for a couple of years now. When the weather got really bad one of the offspring showed up in the garage in pretty bad condition and there was a slight kerfuffle but he/she was allowed to remain and recovered...we were worried about the other 2 but they all made it. At least "our" wrens made it through - hopefully there are more "garage wrens" and there won't be too much of a decline.

We have not seen or heard our yard pair of Carolina Wrens since Snowmageddon.  We have had similar losses every few winters and eventually, another pair finds our yard.

On our last walk at Cromwell Valley Park, we only heard one Carolina Wren.
