A quick walk around the Tidal Basin and Constitution Gardens and I saw these highlights:

a Bald Eagle flying low over the Tidal Basin (unfortunately, my vantage point was the Case bridge, so I couldn't see the tourists' reactions.)
a Barn Swallow flying over the Tidal Basin
Double-crested Cormorants in the Tidal Basin

At Constitution Gardens: among the mallards a male American Wigeon, and a couple of Red-winged Blackbird males.

On the Mall near the National Museum of American History, an adult Red-tailed Hawk being mobbed by some Fish Crows.
