I had several spring time firsts at Schoolhouse Pond during my morning walk today. These included a singing White-eyed Vireo, a lone Chimney Swift, one Northern Rough-winged Swallow (with the Tree Swallows), and a singing Northern Parula. Other birds included the pair of Blue-winged Teal (which have been here about 2 weeks), 4 Wood Ducks, 6 Double-crested Cormorants, 1 Osprey, 1 Bald Eagle, 3 or 4 Killdeer, a singing Brown Thrasher, several Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, and 75 or so flyover Laughing Gulls. I've had only one flyover Bonaparte's Gull at the pond so far this spring (last week).
