Subject: Poplar Island Sightings from April 19, 2010
This report is submitted on behalf of Jan Reese of Talbot County, who
continues to periodically survey the flora and fauna of the Paul Sarbanes
Ecosystem Restoration Project at Poplar Island.
Some of the birds were seen from the boat during the trip from
Tilghman Island and back.
Note particularly the presence of Turkey Vulture, Blue-winged Teal,
Red-tailed Hawk, and lots of Surf Scoters, Ruddy Ducks and Fish Crows.
Purple Sandpipers are lingering, and American Oystercatchers and a Seaside
