Hi all,

I got out to do a little birding between rain showers this evening (26 April
2010). At Merkle, there were 7 GREEN-WINGED TEAL, 24 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 17
LESSER YELLOWLEGS, and 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS in the pond. Overhead, a MERLIN
(which kept putting up the shorebirds) was being harassed by the local
PURPLE MARTINs. In the field near the visitors center, there were 3
BOBOLINKs flying around calling. The last field before Fenno road held one
each of INDIGO BUNTING and BLUE GROSBEAK. I also stopped on the way home
to check a reliable KENTUCKY WARBLER spot, and sure enough, there was one
singing.

I have also added some photos of the RUFF (thanks again Ron!!) and AMERICAN
GOLDEN PLOVER from Worcester County seen during the IBA Birdathon on
Saturday, and various other shots from the past couple of weeks that can be
viewed here-

Good Birding!
