Hi Everyone,

This afternoon (27 April 2010) after work I stopped by the Hampshire Rd turf farm and the Rt 50 Borrow Pit in Wicomico County.

There is some standing water on Hampshire Rd in several locations. The only water that had shorebirds was closest to the RR tracks. Here I had 2 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS and 2 LEAST SANDPIPERS.

I didn't see any shorebirds at the Rt 50 Borrow Pit, but swallows and swifts were there:

Tree Swallow--4
Northern Rough-winged Swallow--6
Barn Swallow--2
Chimney Swift--10

My best personal highlight at the borrow pit was a fly-by LITTLE BLUE HERON. I was beginning to wonder if I'd ever see one in my home county. Yippee!!!!

Have fun,
