I spent most of the morning in a meeting in DC and in lieu of my usual walk around Schoolhouse Pond, I stopped by Bladensburg Waterfront Park briefly. The highlight was two breeding plumage Cattle Egrets in the grassy area on the west side of the Anacostia River (directly opposite the park). The birds were foraging in the grass immediately along the river's edge. Also present were 2 Osprey, 1 Solitary Sandpiper, 1 Spotted Sandpiper, 1 Indigo Bunting, and 10 immature Ring-billed Gulls.
