All -

Joe Byrnes and I watched 3 of the ravens from about 6:10-6:35 PM this evening. They were hanging around on top of the dam proper and nicely made forays to both the PG and Howard sides. By 6:35 they all disappeared down low.

Marcie's strategy worked well for us. Park on the dam entrance road (W Bond Mill) off Brooklyn Bridge Rd and head to the far corner of the ball field for a good look at the top of the dam.

We ran into Bart Pitts while we were there - he is a birder/nature friendly WSSC ranger who used to be stationed up at Brighton Dam. Someone had apparently reported people with scopes looking out at the dam so he had to check it out. He is intrigued by the report of a family of ravens and will spread the word to other WSSCers that there might be birder activity. They're used to us at Brighton Dam, not so much at TH Duckett. Anyway, there is no problem looking at the birds there - just explain what you're doing if someone asks.

Cheers!
