I just spent 2 days at Carey Run (Sun eve - Tues late afternoon).
It was fun. Unfortunately, bird activity seemed to be rather low,
but I did get to see Ruffed Grouse, Wild Turkey, and Bohemian
Waxwing. The Ruffed Grouse wasn't exactly difficult; they walked
right up to me as soon as I got out of the car! Looking for a
handout, no doubt.

There were unbelievable numbers of butterflies there, and I got to
see one species I'd never seen before - an American Copper.

On Monday I went for a 28 mile bike ride on the Great Allegheny
Passage trail, starting from Frostburg and heading into
Pennsylvania. Didn't see any unusual birds, but it was an incredible
ride. I highly recommend it. It's do-able with any type of bike,
including no bike at all - one can always walk, right?
