I led five folks today for the C&O Canal Association, we went upstream from
iley's Lock. Highlights were a Mute Swan, Yellow-throated Vireo, and Brown
reeper.

Mute Swan
On the far side of the Potomac, clearly showed a tail, could only have
een a Mute.

Red-shouldered Hawk
Red-tailed Hawk (Eastern)

They appeared to be quite abundant, several dozen, but did not manage a
ount.

Northern Flicker (Yellow-shafted)

Yellow-throated Vireo
Singing, burry vireo song.
Blue Jay
Big migratory push, they were moving upstream at treetop level. Did not
anage a count, but probably several hundred.
