I only took one avian rehab course in college but they always told us to make sure the bird was warm (heat lamp may be needed) and felt comforatble (have an area that is can hide in - maybe a blanket) as well as a cleaner area where you can put water. Dehydration is a major concern so you should probable give it water by hand with a syringe, esp. if its not drinking on its own. Food should not be an immediate concern.

Good luck!
