Hi all --

Not a bad morning at WRP -- obviously a cool autumn day without much sun but
birds were active. The last of the warblers are hanging on but there is a
definite hint of winter...

Birds of Interest:

Great Blue Heron - 2
BLACK DUCK - 1 (very spooky, flushed off lake as soon as it saw us)
Belted Kingfisher - 2
Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - 1
Eastern Phoebe - 1
Gray Catbird - 1 (heard only)
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 15
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 8
Hermit Thrush - 3
RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH - 1
Winter Wren - 3
BLUE-HEADED VIREO - 1 (singing!)
Black-throated Blue Warbler - 6
Palm Warbler - 3, yellow
Myrtle Warbler - 5
White-throated Sparrow - 20+
Chipping Sparrow - 3-4 (numbers have really declined)
Song Sparrow - 15
PURPLE FINCH - 5 (1 adult male)

plus the usual...
