Hi all --

A real autumn morning -- breezy, leaves falling everywhere, but beautiful
colors reflecting in Pine Lake. Activity less than yesterday, especially
after the clouds moved in -- but as always, some birds of interest. The real
surprise was the major evacuation of White-throated Sparrows -- very few
around -- and another big influx of Chippies. We checked Brookside Gardens
for hummingbird activity, but drew a blank. However, lots of Robins and a
singe lingering Catbird.

Birds of interest:

Red-tailed Hawk - 1
Red-shouldered Hawk - 1
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 2
Eastern Phoebe - 1
Winter Wren - 2
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 4
Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 8
Eastern Bluebird - 2
GRAY CATBIRD - 1 (getting late)
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER - 1 (bright male)
Chipping Sparrow - 50+
Song Sparrow - 12
LINCOLN'S SPARROW - 1
Swamp Sparrow - 3
White-throated Sparrow - 6
Dark-eyed Junco - 10
Eastern Towhee - 5
PURPLE FINCH - 2 (brownies)
