Hello Bob and MDOsprey Birders,

To clarify my previous scant description: The young grebe were nearly the
same size as the adults; but still had red-orange on the bill and some
rufous coloration on the edges of the black and white pattern on the head
and neck. They had the same pattern as in the picture of the juvenile grebe
in Sibleyıs guide; but the tan brown colors were replaced with black and
white.

Keith,
   Did the young grebes have any traces of the stripes on the face? This
would give some indication of age.
