The Sandhill Crane did indeed land just over the hill from the pond. After  
watching it depart from the pond where it's been seen, I found it walking 
on the  paved entrance road to the south off of Fairview Vista Drive. It was 
still  there, just within the barricade and picking insects off the asphalt 
when I  left at 7:15.
 
Later I stopped at the Papermill Flats in Baltimore County. No Golden  
Eagle, but 3 BALD EAGLE (2 adult, 1 2nd or 3rd year), 9 BLACK DUCK, about 80  
GREEN-WINGED TEAL and 1 female NORTHERN SHOVELER.
