Hi Jerry,
Must be an upcounty phenomenon. In just over 3 years of living here in SW Carroll County, I've recorded Bald Eagle over the yard 18 times, some in April or may, most October-February.

In other sightings, for the second time in about a week I spotted a BALD
AGLE over Route 31 between Westminster and New Windsor. Today it was in the
eneral vicinity of Wakefield Valley Road. Unlike Juncos, they ain't real
ommon out here. There is one that hangs out down at Piney Run and sometimes
hey can be spotted around Liberty Dam. I've had 2 fly over the lake across
he road in 25 years living here.

When I got home this afternoon (no idea where I've been), the wife suggested
e drive over the hill and see the now most famous Crane in the world. Yes,
e finally saw it after somebody else saw it wandering up from the smaller
ond. It is indeed the greatest Crane in the world now that it has set foot
ere in Carroll just minutes from my house.
nd to follow up June's quote earlier this week about my comment that it is
mpossible to leave Carroll County, yes that is true. When Don Henley wrote
otel California it was all a metaphor about Carroll County - You can check
ut any time you like but you can never leave. Trust me. Or call Don. I'm
ure he's easy to get hold of.

So if you get a Bald Eagle while you're crane hunting out here, consider
ourself lucky. And also consider yourself lucky if you get back out.
oesn't happen.
