This afternoon I went to Washington County based on the reports from Brad Lanning and Jim Green earlier in the week. I couldn't find a Horned Lark flock on White Hall Rd, but I did find a good-sized flock on Chewsville Rd. I picked out one Lapland Longspur but couldn't find a Snow Bunting. I also heard a longspur when the flock got up and flew around for a while.
Parking opportunies on Chewsville Rd are poor. I was able to pull most of the way off the road southeast of the intersection with White Hall Rd. Also, I would suggest going in the morning or on a cloudy day. The sun was nearly in my eyes as I was scanning around 2pm.
