I was at the Baltimore Craft Show at the Convention Center yesterday and at one point walked across the street to visit an ATM machine in one of the high-rise buildings and found a beautiful American Woodcock lying dead on the steps of the building, apparently from an impact.  One of the building's cleaning crew quickly ducked out of the building and scooped it up.

A few years ago a woman emailed the Voice of the Naturalist really nice close-up photos of American Woodcocks in her backyard on Capitol Hill in DC.
