My son Declan and I stopped by the Potomac at noon today, in between
the rains. At Riley's Lock, one RED-NECKED GREBE was there (with a
Pied-bill and a few Horned Grebes). In the river, two LONG-TAILED
DUCKS (a drake & hen) were paddling Northward with the large raft of
scaup, wigeon and coots.
At Violette's Lock, the WHITE-WINGED SCOTER continued to show well,
occassionaly snoozing among the raft of Redheads and Ring-necked
Ducks.
And then the rain REALLY started to fall...
