Of possible interest to county listers were sightings yesterday (Saturday) of these three species in Morgantown, Charles County.

The SNOW GOOSE was in a flock of Canadas in a field on the west side of Morgantown Road just before it turns to parallel the water. This species was reported here in November. We only saw one Snow Goose. A second large white goose did not have apparent black on the wing tips and had an orange bill.

The LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was on a private pier to the east of the corner where Morgantown Road turns to parallel the water.

A flock of ROCK PIGEONS flew over as we were scoping the geese.

Otherwise, not a lot of waterfowl, and the wrong time of day to scope the Potomac. We had a few unidentified ducks which we neglected to count and include in the eBird report.
