Sunny becoming partly cloudy; 39-60 degrees; good to excellent visibility;
winds southwesterly, 6-17 mph, gusting to 26 mph

Raptor Observations:
An incoming Merlin couldn't resist making an abrupt, steep dive on a
Cooper's Hawk; A local Red-tailed Hawk carrying prey

Non-raptor Observations:
A Swamp Sparrow in bright spring plumage foraged within 10 feet of us; over
20 Purple Martins; around 100 Bonaparte's Gulls

Site Description:
Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at
the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD. Best
winds are from the southwest. The Park is closed to visitors on Wednesdays.
