Good Evening All,
I have taken several walks around Wilde Lake since March 22 looking for a
Black-crowned Night-Heron. Finally saw one tonight at the shallow end. There
is a link below to the photo I took of it. More surprising was a Bank
Swallow flying with the large group of swallows at the dam end. The Bank
Swallow was seen well. Small, dainty swallow with a slightly notched tail,
brownish back but wings darker, and brown band on breast. Fast flight and
out flying the Northern Rough-winged and Tree Swallows.
Earlier, I had a Purple Martin near the west entrance to Centennial Lake.
Great Egret and Caspian Terns were also at Centennial.
