Hi all,

Bary and I decided to hit Hains Poit and see if the strong NW winds might
have forced migrants to the tip (we ran into this once last year and had a
fabulous mornng). Well, not quite as exciting but there were lots of birds
and bird song, and good views of migrants in the open-branched trees
between the maintenance yard and the point itself. One oak contained
three Scarlet tanagers, two Indigo Buntings, 2-3 Baltimore Orioles,
several Myrtle Warblers, two Pewees, a Kingbird and a Great Crested!
Several FOYs were recorded. The wind-swept river itself was devoid of
bird life except a few Mallards, Cormorants and Ring-billed Gulls. I didn't
see the martin houses at the golf course -- are they still there? (No
martins seen either, this used to be a large colony).
