Evening all,
Alli and I walked down to the back fence a while ago with the iPOD and speakers, playing the Grasshopper Sparrow song a few times. The bird came in and landed in a tree along the back of the property, then back into the field of grass. Then back into the corner shrubby trees, then back into the grass. This was how it went, with it flying in but not allowing any decent views, then back to the tall grass. My neighbor doesn't mow his hay till late so maybe it will hang out for some time. Fun to listen to (I was finally able to hear it with my directional mic set-up).

Seems the Laughing Gulls I saw here this morning were earlier seen by Elaine Hendricks at Western Regional Park in Howard County, which is exactly SE of here, which is where they flew in from. Yard species #135 ( I think). Unusual enough that I don't think I will ever get them here again.
