MD Osprey:

Maybe this question is really for Norm ...

Can anyone explain why when some people post messages to MD Osprey
from their smartphones, their MD Osprey "full names" do not appear?

For example, in Ed Carlson's recent smartphone message about finding
the Long-billed Curlew his real name was not in the "From" field. I
also see this with smartphone messages from Jason Berry, Gail
Mackerinan, Sue Ricciardi, Kevin Graff, and others.

If you scan the list of recent MD Osprey posts on Jack Siler's web
site, you can see where this is happening ...

         http://www.birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/MDOS.html

I would think that when you subscribe to MD Osprey and you provide
your "full name" it should always be attached to your posted
messages, regardless of which platform your message was sent from ...
??? FYI, see the "Subscribing" link here ...

I guess that rather than knowing why this is happening, I'm really
more interested in knowing if it can be corrected ...? (To put this
in context, this is from someone who sends over 1,000 emails a year
about MD/DCRC business and has locally archived all MD Osprey
messages since 1997, so a robust and consistent email search
capability is very important to me!)

PLEASE, please, please, do not start a long technical email
discussion here on MD Osprey, that's not within scope of this
listserver. Maybe Norm can comment?

Thanks for you indulgence!

Phil
