Jane Kostenko and I arrived at North Beach marsh shortly after 0700 today. Jim
Stasz was just leaving, after arriving around 0625, without seeing the bird.
Dave Perry pulled into the two car parking lot immediately after us. The bird
did not show during our stay until 0830. 8 or 9 Snowy Egrets, 2 Green Herons, 2
Semipalmated Sandpipers, 1 Least Tern, several Tree Swallows, and a bunch of
baby Mallards entertained us while we waited.
As we were leaving, just past the gate to the water control area on the
southwest side of the marsh, I heard a Marsh Wren singing on the bay side. Jane
couldn't hear it from the passenger side of the car so we pulled into the
housing area behind it but it wasn't singing any more.
Good luck to anyone who tries afterward. Not sure when Dave was going to leave
but it would be nice if there was constant coverage.
