O.K. I'm finally forced to observe that more than a few years back, as I was waiting at the intersection of Charles Street and Northern Parkway for the light to change, I saw a Kestrel nail a House Finch at the SE corner, on the lawn of a church. It immediately mantled its prey before pro-
ceding to, er, dismantle it. One could look up an earlier edition of the BBC Chip Notes for this account by Gail
Frantz. Very versatile birds, indeed.
