Hello all,
I checked on the Dickcissels on the block while atlasing yesterday 6/29.

Location 1 - DE 12 ½ mile east of Whiteleysburg on the south side of the road. 6 singing males here on 5/24, 3 on 6/13 and none now. The wheat field on the west side of the farm has been harvested. The pasture on the east side now had a pair of Meadowlark.

Location 2 - Boyce Mill Rd about 1/3 mile west of DE line. Pair seen here 5/24. 2 males and female seen 6/13 with females carrying food. One male singing now. I did not really stay long enough to track down the female.

Location 3 (New) - At the S-curve on Cedar Grove Church Rd (in between previous sites) - 3 singing males plus one female in a meadow / pasture. One male preferred the small red maple along the fence line running away from the road. The female seemed to associated with him. The other two males were singing along the road to the north and south. This seems like it may be the group from DE 12 re-located after the farming disturbance.

Also, the one on Knife Box Rd ½ mile west of Baker Rd (MD) was singing away. Similar fields further southeast on Knife Box did not have any Dickcissel.

Good Birding,
Glen Lovelace III
Seaford, DE
