Morning all,
A nice walk around the yard produced the ever-singing Grasshopper Sparrow with nice views of it perched in a tree by the field edge, singing, and nice views of it flying. Also seen and/or heard: Brown Thrasher, Gray Catbird, N. Mockingbird, Carolina Wren, Red-bellied Woodpecker, Chipping Sparrow (both adult and young, so cute!), E. Kingbird, Blue Jay, Purple Martin (1) and Barn Swallow, Common Grackle and Red-winged Blackbird, N. Cardinal and Indigo Bunting, E. Bluebird (two boxes with ready to fledge young), Eastern Towhee, A. Robin, goldfinches and House Finches, and Red-shouldered Hawk.

Also feeding a pair or more of RT hummers (not like Les!).

Finally got some rain last night and the air this morning smells fresh and clean. Also saw 2 bats last night around dusk, with one hunting over our front field. Yay!
