While on the Poplar Island trip today, I had the good fortune to finally meet Amanda Spears after having read her posts on Osprey all these years.  She's off to college (University of Vermont) next week.  I always found her posts most informative and enjoyable to read. They went beyond just listing the birds.  It was obvious in reading her emails that she genuinely enjoyed birding and it showed in the way she worded her emails.  We will miss her and wish her the best at college.

Oh yes,  I don't know how she did it, but none of her classes begin before 10 AM so I expect she'll be out birding from sun up to 9:59 AM.
