After the Poplar Island trip yesterday (Wednesday, August 17), I made
a quick run up to southern Cecil County to look for shorebirds. At
the previously-described rain pool on Mill Lane, just west of Route
231, the UPLAND SANDPIPER count was up to eleven. The two GREATER
YELLOWLEGS and two LESSER YELLOWLEGS, reported by Jim Moore on
Wednesday morning, were still there. I also saw a KILLDEER and 5 or 6
HORNED LARKS in the grass.

I also checked Bethel MHA but found very little besides a few Great
Blues, Great Egrets, and Green Herons.
