On Saturday morning we had brought along a collapsable canopy in case we needed protection from the sun. We ended up using it to keep us out of the occasional light rain showers! Quite unexpected. Overcast skies and periods of rain kept the flight slow and a bit disappointing. We did see a few kettles of Broad-winged hawks, the largest numbering over 30 birds. The expected morning lift-off consisted of only small groups of BWs rising at a time.
Sunday morning's forecast looks a little better, and if we get some periods of sun we may get a better flight..........

A Cape May Warbler and a Rose-breasted Grossbeak were the best birds seen perched at the watch-site.
