Hi All,

I birded Point Lookout most of Saturday with Fred and Jane Fallon, and John
Dennehy at various points, it was a great day with lots of birds seemingly
everywhere. I listened pre-dawn along Cornfield Harbor road and heard many
sparrows and warblers calling overhead as well as a single GRAY-CHEEKED
THRUSH. Arriving at the point just after light, it became apparent that
there was a bit of a fallout occurring, passerines were seen flying just
above the water out in the bay heading towards land, most were too far to ID
this continued until well after sunrise. Birds that could be ID'd were 2
YELLOW-SHAFTED FLICKERs bounding in and a singe NELSON'S/SALTMARSH SPARROW
that was close enough to see the orange face and sides, as well as the
braces on the back (with scope), it headed straight into the phrag and could
not be relocated. I ended up running across 17 species of warblers in some
really impressive concentrations (full list/counts below). After the point,
i checked Long Neck road and located a single CATTLE EGRET with the cows.
Jo Anna and I also walked the dogs at Selby's Landing last evening, we were
pretty surprised to see and ADULT EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, I cant remember
exactly when I last saw an adult, but this seems quite late, on closer
inspection we noticed the bird only had one eye. We also spotted an adult
male HOODED WARBLER here.

Non-avian highlight was a Long-tailed Skipper hanging out in the Kudzu patch
north of the picnic area.

Comments: Fallout!!! Birds were all over the place, at first light,
passerines could be seen coming in off the water of the bay just above the
waves, saw about 23 birds doing this, certainly missed more
