Hi Folks,

Ed Carlson and I did an afternoon survey of the Swan Creek/Cox Creek
facility, with the highlight being a NELSON'S SPARROW in the mitigated
wetland. It popped up atop a cattail for about two seconds in perfect
light. The drab orange head and breast clearly made it a sharp-tail, and
the diffuse breast streaking, cleanly bordering a white belly were the
markings of a Nelson's. It's drabness suggested an Atlantic (Acadian) race.

Other nice finds for the outing were Cape May Warbler, White-rumped
Sandpiper, Dunlin, and first of season Golden-crowned Kinglet.
