Morning all,

A brief walk around the yard, and I had a few nice finds. A Northern Harrier (female or immature) flew over my neighbors farm field, heading SW around 9:15, and a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks were out and calling very early (7AM) and being harassed by crows. Lots of Blue Jays and Northern Flickers around, and a late-record (for my yard) Ruby-throated Hummingbird flew over heading SW also. I have taken down the feeders earlier than I like as we were having huge problems this year with yellowjacket swarms on them, possibly due to all the rain.

Also had at least 3 Chimney Swifts flying around over the yard, probably wondering, like I was, where the hot weather suddenly went.

Yesterday I had singles of American Kestrel, Osprey, Broad-winged Hawk and RS Hawk, mostly after noon. Still huge numbers of Chipping Sparrows here, flocking and feeding in the grass and garden.
