The Pied Crow has a large range in Africa, both in land area and in
altitude. It usually lives in open areas with towns nearby. Although
not primarily a bird of mountainous country, it has been found
living at elevations up to 12,000 feet in Ethiopia. Even though
Ethiopia is near the equator, that altitude must make for some
really cold winters.
