I birded in NW Carroll and NE Frederick Counties from 11:30 AM to 4:45 PM. The highlights are as follows:

Adult Bald Eagle flying over Ruggles Road (Carroll) near the Pennsylvania state line

One flock of approx 30 Killdeer flying near Shriver Road (Frederick)

Two adult Red-headed Woodpeckers: one along Ruggles Road about one mile west of MD Route 194 and one at the Toms Creek Church Road pond (Frederick)

Seven Eastern Meadowlarks in the hayfields along Walnut Grove Road north of Bowers Road (Carroll)

Two Common Ravens: one along Roop Road near Bullfrog Road in Carroll, and one along Bridgeport Road in Frederick County

Eastern Phoebe along Stull Road just west of Route 15 (Frederick)

White-crowned Sparrows in several spots (no large flocks), and more raptors than I saw in early December. Observed a few groups of Horned Larks but could find no other species mixed in with them
