Hi all,

Back home for another week until breaks over and I get to return to chilly Burlington (and all the Rough-legged Hawks, Tree Sparrows, and Goldeneyes I could ever want).Took a short walk from my house to the private dock overlooking Little Queenstown Creek. Not surprised to seem many geese, but very happy to see a nice flock of hoodies and a PB Grebe. A scan through the geese revealed an apparent small flock of Cackling Geese. I've never had experience with a CACG flock, so I watched them for a good amount of time. The complete list and comments are below.

> Cackling Goose (Richardson's) 7 Small geese with stubby bills, short necks, steep foreheads, and a slight silvery cast to their backs. All 7 formed a tight flock that kept together as the swam through the larger flock of CANGs; they were very easy to pick back out while scanning the rest of the flock. The CANGs seemed pretty mixed in terms of different sizes and forms, so comparisons were easily made. First CACG flock I've ever encountered.
