We made our second pilgrimage to the infamous mall parking lot in Hunt
Valley this afternoon. As we arrived at 1PM, there were about a thousand
fewer cars than last month, and 35 Ring-billed Gulls. On the edge of the flock
was the Black-headed.

I threw out some old bread that the RBG's gobbled up, with the BHG showing
no interest whatsoever. After five minutes it flew off to the south. We
went to lunch and it had returned when we did.

It flew off to the south twice more, returning once. At one point two
women in an SUV threw out some bread and this time the BHG got a scrap or two.
They must have been throwing Wonder Bread, while I was using a lesser
brand.

During the time I was present, many cars drove right through the flock of
gulls, one obviously trying to scare the birds beeping the horn vigorously.
The gulls paid little head to any of this, trotting just far enough out
of the way to avoid contact, or briefly flying up.
