I was in Prince Frederick this afternoon and saw the two mystery doves flying together near the Kmart. I followed them and found that they had flown into the sign over the store and were hanging out in and behind the "g" in the Big K sign. Anyway, they're pure white so when I saw them a few weeks ago in the low late afternoon sun, they had a more golden glow that made me think that they were Eurasian Collared-Doves. C'est la vie. Also, for anyone trying to tick Rock Pigeon for Calvert, I seriously doubt that these are related. The bill is quite elongated and the head is much more tapered than the typical Rock Pigeon. I was able to snap a few pix in the dim light if you're interested in seeing what they look like. Clearly they hang out together as I've only ever seen the two sitting close the other times I saw them before today.
