3-7-12 Queen Annes County waterfowl leaving , Osprey returns and a couple of late reports of new birds

    Hi all today at work at the Wye Research Center near Queenstown  Maryland  I could not help but  notice the flocks of geese headed North from about 7:00 Am  till 9:30 Am  Several flocks contained at least 50 to 60 birds each  but I could not get a good count. also at about 3:00 PM      I saw an newly arrived  Osprey hovering  over our irrgation pond . my first for the year .   Bird list below


Canada Goose    x    flocks going north
Tundra Swan     12        hard to see going over also   looking into the sun 
Great Blue Heron      1    flyover
OSPREY        1      at 3:00 Pm   
Red Tailed Hawk        1
Sharp shinned Hawk    1    hunting 
Turkey    Vulture      7
Black Vulture          2
Fish     Crow          10      
Purple Grackle           2
Dark eyed Junco    15
