The weather forecast held some promise as winds from the south were predicted. Also promising was David La Puma's web site tracking Saturday night's substantial bird migration detected by radar(woodcreeper.com). So we were surprised to see very little movement from 9:15 AM until about noon when some groups of BWs began to appear overhead and gain altitude quickly. The rest of the day was spent scanning for high flying raptors that were little more than specks! We are still hoping for a big push of BWs this week. The Ripleys Hawk Watch along Lake Erie in New York had a flight of over 3,000 BWs in one hour late Sunday afternoon! The possibility of that kind of flight keeps us hoping, scanning, dreaming.....
