HI all,
Barry and I took the dogs for a rather late morning walk along Paint Branch, Mont. Co, downstream of East Randolph Rd. There were actually some migrants (!). Best were two singing BLUE-HEADED VIREOS (FOS), two YELLOW-THROATED VIREOS (FOS, singing male and a female gathering nesting material at eye level), a HERMIT THRUSH, two singing male PARULAS, a couple of Yellow-rumped Warblers and about 7 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers. No other warblers. Also, a calling but unseen Barred Owl, Eastern Phoebe at bridge (has been there for several weeks), 6-7 Chipping Sparrows (but no other sparrows), Red-shouldered Hawk and two distant, very high raptors which were probably a Red-tail and a Broad-winged based on size and jizz but not 100% as they rapidly glided away.
Other than that, just the "usual suspects" but a nice walk...maybe things are starting!
