I was on the deer-creek wildflower trail around 1:15 retracing my steps back to Stafford Rd. when I was startled to hear a Cerulean Warbler not far from the path. It wasn't singing its complete, easily-identified song, so I wanted to make sure of it by seeing it. I walked about 50 feet into the woods and got a great long enjoyable view of it about 25 feet up, still singing. Maybe 2-3 minute walk from the bridge.

I got Redstart and Blue-Winged Warbler predictably in the woods/field area behind the parking lot and pine trees in the picnic area--where most of the action was today.

I'm wondering if the Cerulean and Redstarts are somewhat early for Harford County. A really nice day overall.

Some birds:

CERULEAN (1)
REDSTART (2, male)
BLUE-WINGED WARBLER (1)
Louisiana Waterthrush (6+)
Common Yellowthroat (widespread)
Parula (widespread)
Ovenbird (5+)
Yellow-Rumped (widespread)
Yellow-Throated Warbler (3, 2 singing near Cerulean)
Prothonotary (3)

Blue-headed Vireo (3)
Warbling Vireo (4)
Yellow-Throated Vireo (1)
White-Eyed Vireo (5+)

Hairy Woodpecker (2)
Great-Crested Flycatcher (1)
