I stopped by the C&O canal at Great Falls in the middle of the day for
about an hour.
I was greeted immediately by a singing Male Baltimore Oriole, resplendently
orange in the bright sunlight..
I also heard 5-6 ( saw 2-3) Orchard Orioles; a couple of incessantly
singing Warbling Vireos were not seen.
Otherwise all the usual suspects; lots of herons flying to-and-fro from the
rookery on Conn island; cormorants, soaring a Red-tail, and Red-shouldered
hawks, and an adult Bald eagle making easy circles over the parking lot.
And what a gorgeous, sunny, blue-sky day.
