Amy and I arrived at the parking lot at the east end of Lake Waterford at about 12:45pm. We walked west through the woods until we spotted a trail to the lake and then headed to the water's edge. Amy immediately spotted the Anhinga along the northern edge in a tree that had bent over into the lake. After 7 minutes the bird flew to a higher perch in a dead tree slightly farther east and across from the second wood walkway along the lake. It really blended in at this second perch. After 10 minutes at 1:20pm the bird flew east again and we could not see it land. While we were there it circled back around one last time about 15 minutes later and again landed out of sight. I posted a couple photos of the Anhinga at each of the two perches to our Flickr page here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jeffamy/Thanks.

regards,
