Good walk through Milford Mill Park this morning revealed MANY Yellow-Rumped
Warblers and (2) Black & White Warblers within the first 100 yards. About
1/3 the way along the Falls I bumped into Taylor McLean who with his good
eyes and ears helped me to see the highlight of the morning - 2 Blue-winged
Warblers. Further along the trail near the open meadow area and across the
Gwynns Falls I was delighted to find 2 Blue Grosbeaks rummaging through the
underbrush. On the backside of the trail near the repaired boardwalk, I
located 2 Black-throated Blue Warblers and 1 Scarlet Tanager. In between
the two extremes of the loop trail there were the usual (but always
enjoyable) suspects which as of this morning included numerous Wood
Thrushes, a couple of Eastern Towhees, several Blue-Headed Vireos heard and
1 seen plus a visual on a Red-eyed Vireo. A nice way to start the day, but
surprised not to find an American Redstart.
