Around 6 p.m. at Riley's Lock (Seneca), where I happened to run into 
Eric Skrzypczak, I spotted a couple of Common Nighthawks flying in a 
northwesterly direction. This may be the earliest I've ever seen them.

Other birds of interest near the river included Orchard Oriole, Eastern 
Kingbird, and a pair of Ospreys.
