Hi all -- Yes, it is true that an *early* Sunday visit will encounter the
gulls, but with no landfill activity to keep them, they soon depart. We have
been over there on at least three Sundays in the early afternoon (just passing
by) and have found less than a tenth of the birds present on Saturday, and
visits in late pm by others have found *no* gulls.

Saturdays and weekdays, for those who can do the latter, are more reliable.
We go over to Pax on average about every other day and it appears that
Saturdays may be best -- strictly a hypothesis, but with landfill activity
shutting down at noon, perhaps more gulls drift over to the lake for a bath and
nap. Last Saturday was very impressive indeed!

We're off in about 15 minutes for another visit -- not expecting the ice to
have held up, so not sure what conditions will be...will report later.
