Excellent point Zach!
Congrats to the Maryland youth bird
Excellent point Zach!
Congrats to the Maryland youth birders. The Chick Burr-ders, the all girl team from Centreville Middle School rock and were the talk of everyone at the WSB award brunch. Congrats also to you, Tom Johnson (although he's from PA) and all your Coastal Cuckoos. Your count of 212 is, as you say, an amazing feat. As a member of the second place team this year (it was time to be beat after winning first place the last two years) I tried to congradulate you on Sunday, but understandably you were always surrounded by well wishers. Although after talking to the Cornell team at the Swap Meet I think you should cut those guys a little slack. They had their hands full this spring with the Ivory Bill. ;)

Subject: [MDOSPREY] WSB: Maryland takes home top honors
Youth birding in Maryland is alive and well. The young birders from George
Radcliffes program placed 1st and 2nd in the Middle School division with 150
species and 148 species. This is an amazing feat for these birders who at
first had trouble between cardinal blue jay. I believe that George deserves
a lot of credit for what he has done to youth birding in the state. On
another note my team, the Coastal Cuckoos, won the high school division with
212 species and raised over $7,800. This is an amazing feat for our team
beating Cornell and tying Pete Dunne's team. Overall we came in 3rd place
and are very happy. I would just like to thank everybody who supported the
team and youth birding.
Good birding
